Cosmetic Veneers

A porcelain veneer is a thin casing of ceramic material that is glued on top of the natural tooth surface. Porcelain veneers are very durable, highly aesthetic and do not stain no matter what you eat. Your dentist first prepares the tooth by grinding off a thin layer of the tooth surface to allow for the thickness of the veneer.
Veneers are ideal for fixing discolourations, irregularities, and imperfections and ultimately boosts your self-esteem. Porcelain veneers can be a great alternative to crowns for the front teeth for many patients.

One of the most common uses of veneers is to correct teeth crowding and malalignment. Where appropriate, your dentist may recommend a short term and fast orthodontic alignment before proceeding with veneers. The purpose of this would be to minimise the use of any grinding to your natural teeth structure.
At Shire Doctors and Dentists, we recommend that you book a cosmetic consultation to talk to one of our skilled practitioners about your options and alternatives to achieve the beautiful smile you deserve.
