National Hearing Care – Amplifon has one of the most extensive networks of clinics in Australia, with over 350 regional and metropolitan clinics leading the way in hearing loss, technology, testing and treatment.

One in six Australians have some degree of hearing loss. It is expected that this number will rise to one in four Australians by 2050 as a result of an ageing population and exposure to severely loud noise. Amplifon can help determine your type of hearing loss and support you through your hearing health journey.

It is recommended that patients over the age of 55 have an annual hearing check. Also, some common health conditions often associated with hearing loss include elevated blood pressure, depression, diabetes, stroke, heart disease and tinnitus.

Bulk billing available for Medicare and DVA card holders. Contact your doctors for a referral letter. For more information, visit www.amplifon.com/au

FAQs:

Shire Doctors and Dentists provides physiotherapy, psychology, podiatry, and dietetics services which operate together with our GPs and dental team. Our complete medical service requires no travelling between different clinics.

For most allied health services, a GP referral isn’t mandatory — but having one can unlock Medicare rebates. You require a Mental Health Care Plan from a General Practitioner to access up to ten rebated sessions under Medicare.
Shire Doctors and Dentists is a private billing practice. However, certain services — including dietitian consultations — are available through Medicare and DVA. Hearing checks are also bulk billed for eligible Medicare and DVA cardholders.
At Shire Doctors and Dentists, we ask for as much notice as possible. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice — or no-shows — may attract a cancellation fee.

Yes, you can — but having a Mental Health Care Plan (prepared by your GP) means you’re eligible for up to 10 Medicare-rebated sessions. Our in-house GPs can create this plan for you at the same clinic, making the whole process simple and seamless.
